Kelly & William - Wedding Highlights

Monday, September 6th, 2010

On Kelly & William’s wedding day, it rained on and off throughout the day - and just when it looked like there was going to be a break, it would start all over again.  All that rain didn’t dampen their spirits though, and when it started raining during their photo shoot away from any real cover, they just put up umbrellas and went with it - smiling the whole time.

Kelly & William were married at St. Patrick’s church in Watervliet, then headed to Saratoga National for their reception.  During the cocktail hour, the photographers, Bruce & Wanda from Imagine Photography & Design, took advantage of every covered area and every break in the rain to get photos of the newlyweds and their bridal party.  After the couple was introduced and danced their first dance, Kelly’s father gave a very touching welcome speech, though he did have to ask her to stop looking at him at one point so he could get through it all.  The best man and maid of honor followed with equally great toasts - evoking both laughter and tears from the bride & groom and guests.  After dinner, DJ Mike Garrasi from Music Man Entertainment cranked up the tunes to get the crowd moving and it was a non-stop party until the end of the night - only pausing a bit when the yummy dessert station opened up. :)

Michelle & Zach - Wedding Highlights

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

“There will be Spice Girls!” Other than her dress and her music selections, Michelle wasn’t really sure what everything was going to look like and how it was going to come together since she had planned her wedding long distance from Georgia where Zach is stationed. Well, she didn’t need to worry - it was beautiful.

When I arrived on the day of the wedding, the girls were hanging out, playing video games and checking statuses on FB - just waiting to get dressed.  Right before it was time to go, Michelle presented her mother with a locket that she had put her grandmother’s photo inside so that she would be with them that day (yes, there were tears). The ceremony was short and sweet, and neither Zach nor Michelle could stop smiling at each other. It’s so cool to watch people in love on their wedding day - the excitement of the big day, the anticipation of their life together - very cool.  Anyway, after the photo session the party started. Vinny from Cool Cat Entertainment got the crowd revved up starting with the introductions and they kept it going all night.  There was an awesome bouquet and garter toss - with the lucky catchers already dating each other, there was a breakdancer, balcony dancers and even a Spice Girls song thrown in for the bride. :) An awesome party to celebrate their first hours as husband and wife.  Congratulations Michelle & Zach!

Keri & Darren - Wedding Highlights

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Creating these blog entries doesn’t come easy for me - sometimes taking longer to write than to create the highlight video that goes along with it.  This one is going to be easy though as I’m going to let Darren write most of it.  As I was getting ready to put this together, I stumbled across a blog that he wrote about a little ode he had written to Keri that he was going to share at the wedding, but never got to it (it’s amazing how fast the day really goes by once it starts).  I’ve picked out some of my favorite parts to share here.

I just want to say a few words about my beautiful, brand-spanking new wife. Keri and I had our first date 2 years, 2 months, and 2 weeks ago from this very day. And I knew very early on, I had stumbled upon something special.

In fact, I remember one day, no more than a couple of months into our relationship, getting ready with Keri to go out and I found myself just staring at her for a few moments before eventually blurting out ‘How in the world did I get so lucky to have found you?”

“No seriously,” I asked, “how in the world have you stayed single long enough so that I could find you?!?”

I mean, here was this incredibly smart, extremely sexy and cool girl. Sensitive and sweet – with just enough spice and even a touch of the occasional vinegar to keep things interesting. Pretty and funny – not only appreciating my own sense of humor, which is tough enough, but also constantly making me laugh. And it all came bundled in this one little enticing skinny package!
 ……
It was just always so easy to envision Keri as my wife because she is exactly what i’ve always pictured when I thought about my life in this stage.

And the more I think about my original question – “How in the world did you stay single long enough so that I could find you? – the more I wonder if the answer is not just that relationships are hard, but that perhaps, this is the only way it could have possibly been.

That it, and us, and today were always going to be. Had to be.

And I am just so happy and thankful right now, so excited about our future … and I love you very, very much!

Every groom should write something so perfect for his new bride - don’t you think? Before I get to the video, I would like to mention a couple of things that helped make this day memorable (aside from Keri & Darren, of course):

  • Broken Bones - my second groom in a cast this year (2009)
  • My Hero - Chad’s “My Brother is My Hero” toast - awesome!
  • Thriller - how many times do you get to see a 91 year old dancing to the Michael Jackson hit?
  • Karaoke - Darren sang - altering the lyrics to the Neil Diamond song from Sweet Caroline to Sweet Keri Lyn
  • And, some great vendors to work with at the beautiful Canfield Casino: Brett Deutsch (NYC photographer), Saratoga PhotoboothClasse Catering

Keri & Darren - Thanks for taking a chance on me!

Rachel & David - Wedding Highlights

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

Rachel & David grew up on opposite ends of the state.  It wasn’t until their second year of college at SUNY Albany that they finally met - and fell in love.  Fast forward 10 years, after David proposed on the Brooklyn Bridge, and here we are - on a beautiful Sunday in July at the Hall of Springs in Saratoga to celebrate their wedding.  This was our third wedding of that particular weekend and was another great one.

The weather was perfect - sunshine, blue sky, slight breeze.  Rachel & David chose to do a first look - when they see each other prior to the ceremony.  It’s such a great moment - to see each other before everyone else sees you and before the tears start streaming.  A lot of couples want to be able to enjoy the cocktail hour, so it’s a great opportunity to get some of the pictures out of the way too.  Brian and Paul of McGarry Photography were there to capture the day and this moment with us.

At the ceremony, the ring bearer was brought down the aisle in a wagon - he was sooooo cute.  David made everyone laugh when he made sure to annunciate the word “wife” during the ring exchange - and he was able to break the glass on one try (after warming up a bit of course).  It’s all in the highlight video below.

At the reception, the newlyweds were announced and went right into their first dance.  Rachel came in with a new hairdo for the party - kind of a low up-do on the side - very pretty.  After some touching, emotional, funny toasts, the party started and the NY Players got the place jumping.   There was a dessert table (with ice cream!) and a candy bar where guests could fill up goody bags (love those!).  Rachel’s colors were brown and blue, and the elegant bouquets and flowers that decorated the hall were by Fleurtacious Designs.

Here is the highlight video from their July 2009 wedding.  Feel free to leave comments for the happy couple.  Enjoy!

Brittany & Anthony - Love Story

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

So, what exactly is a Love Story?  It’s the story about the two of you.

This particular Love Story features Brittany & Anthony.  We all got together at Congress Park in Saratoga on a beautiful Spring day to film their story.  They walked around, had a picnic lunch, answered some interview questions and just enjoyed spending time with each other (which definitely shows in the video).   This clip is a slightly shorter version of their actual Love Story - which they arranged to play on the big screen at their reception during dinner.  That was so cool!

The Love Story is included in the Timeless package or can be added on to any other package.  It can be done with or without interviews - and, if done far enough in advance, could be used as a Save The Date video.

Enjoy!
