Kristina & Matthew - Hall of Springs

Sunday, June 19th, 2011

When I arrived at the Gideon Putnam, where Kristina and her bridesmaids were getting ready, the strangest thing happened. They were all ready - hair and make-up completely done, just waiting for it to be time to get dressed and do some touch ups. It’s a good thing they had that extra time to relax, because once Joe & JP Elario arrived and it was time to get dressed and take photos, the rest of the day just flew by.

Kristina & Matt exchanged their vows at the Church of St. Peter in Saratoga Springs, where three extremely talented bridesmaids sang at different points during the ceremony. From there, they hopped a trolley and headed to the Hall of Springs. Photos were first, and even though some thunder started rolling, the rain held off. Inside the hall was beautiful and ready for a party. The Elario photobooth was in full swing, the DJ had the dance floor moving, Kristina’s family sang the couple an Estonian song and later in the evening they set up a retro station with sliders, fries, onion rings and milkshakes. It was a very special day for a wonderful couple and we were so happy to be able be a part of it.

Marie & Stephen - Mallozzi’s

Saturday, May 7th, 2011

Marie & Stephen were married last weekend on one of the most beautiful days we’ve had this year.  They said their vows at St. Francis of Assisi in Albany then headed across the street to the firehouse (Steve’s a firefighter) for some photos with the always fabulous Elario’s (check them out here).

At the reception, the guests were treated to a humorous best man’s speech, a candy bar and dessert tables, the song stylings of Frank Giglio, a mother/daughter dance between Marie and her mom (so sweet), and a wonderfully fun bride and groom who danced the night away and made my job easy!

Flowers: Flowers by Pesha

Venue: Mallozzi’s
Vocals (Ceremony): April Marie

Maggie & Joe Highlights - Franklin Plaza

Sunday, January 23rd, 2011

Maggie & Joe tied the knot back in November on a cold, cold Saturday that even brought us snow flurries. They started off the day with a First Look outside with the bridal party cheering them on and went on to take more photos - outside. Maggie was a trooper.  Not once did she complain or ask to go inside, though she was shivering at times.

Once inside and warmed up, they said their “I Do’s” in front of their family and friends, their beautiful little girl Gianna, and Maggie’s brother who is in the military overseas (he got to listen on the phone). After the ceremony, the folks at the Franklin Plaza worked their magic and made the ballroom gorgeous - with black linens, silver accents, pink lighting, and a separate lounge area. Maggie & Joe soon entered the room to a cheering crowd and got things rolling. In addition to the great music and food (they even had cheese steaks, fries and rootbeer floats come out at the end of the night), Maggie & Joe had their fabulous photographers bring their photo booth - which is so much fun - everyone loved it.  It was a beautiful day for a wonderful couple/family!

Lauren & Christopher - Wedding Highlights

Saturday, October 9th, 2010

I first met Lauren just a few weeks before her wedding. Her final countdown had begun, and all her arrangements were made, but she hadn’t booked a videographer yet. It was on her list but she kept skipping over it - then coming back to it - until she finally made her decision. Luckily (for me), I was available and she decided to go for it (a very wise decision if I do say so myself). :)

So, fast forward a couple of weeks and on a gorgeous Saturday in September I meet up with Lauren again. This time it’s as she is getting ready for her wedding. Lipstick-N-Lashes was there as Lauren & the girls got ready at her mom’s house - the same place the reception would take place later on. Big Joe & JP Elario of Joe Elario Photography soon showed up which meant it was time to get rolling. We headed off to Emma Willard for Lauren & Chris’ first look and wedding ceremony. Lauren hit a range of emotions during her vows (calm, nervous, crying, laughing) before she pulled it together and they were pronounced husband and wife.

After the ceremony and a bubble exit from the church, Lauren & Chris hopped in a classic Bentley and headed into Troy for some more photos (check out photos here) before making their way back to the house where a huge tent was set up for the reception. They pretty much thought of everything to make it a great outdoor party - they had luminaries lighting the way to the tent entrance, lighting around tree trunks and hanging in trees, votives all along the rock wall behind their flower garden, a fire pit and Classe Catering for the eats and drinks. It was great seeing everything Lauren talked about come together into this great looking event - including the blue bridesmaids dresses with pink shoes, tan suits and Burberry ties for the guys and the colorful flowers by Fleurtacious Designs. Vinny from NonStop Music provided the music for the night and once Lauren made her way to the dance floor, she was there for the rest of the night. It was a great day for a great couple.

Kate & Alex - Wedding Highlights

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

“Wait,” Kate’s father instructed Alex when they reached the end of the aisle. He wanted one more moment with his daughter. So Alex waited, and when he finally got to take Kate’s hand he was given one more instruction, “Take care of her”. And that’s how their life as a married couple began.

For those of you that frequent the Elario blog, you’ll recognize Kate & Alex from their engagement photos - they’re the Fenway Park couple. I saw their photos myself and was so excited when they contacted me to help document their day - and what a wonderful day it was. Blue skies, white fluffy clouds, perfect weather and everything taking place on Lake George. You couldn’t ask for a better day.

Kate got ready in Ticonderoga at a house right on the lake. As she was getting her make up done, her sister handed her a gift that Alex had sent over - gorgeous custom earrings to match her engagement ring. She immediately swapped out the pearls she was going to wear. When she was done getting ready Kate headed downstairs where her father was waiting for her.  She then grabbed her beautiful bouquet created by Kris Ann of Fleurtacious Designs and headed outside for photos by the lake with her bridesmaids.  Big Joe & JP from Joe Elario Photography were on hand to create the images that day and once again did an amazing job (check out the photos here).  The ceremony was right up the road at St. Mary’s which was followed by the reception at The Sagamore.  While the guests enjoyed the cocktail hour, I hopped on a boat with JP and the bridal party to get some shots out on the lake.  If you’re getting married near a lake, I highly recommend this - so much fun.   We headed back to a cheering crowd and as Kate & Alex made their way up to the party, everyone they passed congratulated them and told them how great they looked!

Soon the reception started and DJ Paul Malo introduced the new couple/Red Sox fans to a cheering crowd as they entered the room to a fun Dropkick Murphys tune.  From there, the rest of the night just flew by.

On a personal note, Amanda and I would like to send out special thanks to Nick and Annamae Fleming for their help that day.  Thank you!  ;)

Joely & David - Wedding Highlights

Friday, May 28th, 2010

Joely & David met in college - she was from the capital region and he was from Long Island.  After they graduated they stayed together and maintained a long distance relationship until Joely decided to pack up her things and move to Long Island…and the rest is history.

On May 1st, Joely & David were married.  They decided to do a “first look” and their formal photos before the ceremony and brought in Joe & JP Elario to capture the moments (check out the photos here).  It was so hot that day - like 85 degrees - which seems like nothing after this weeks weather, but it was very hot for a few weeks ago.  After the photos the bridal party headed inside to cool down, relax and cheer on their favorite horses in the Kentucky Derby.  The ceremony soon followed and before we knew it the couple was being introduced as husband and wife to all their family and friends by the fabulous New York Players.  It was a great beginning to an amazing party that lasted until the wee hours of the morning.  Congratulations Joely & David!
