Sunday, August 7th, 2011Jackie and Bryan have been together for 14 years. As the best man said in his toast, they are among the few couples that can put their wedding picture next to their prom picture. 
Early on in their relationship (10th grade to be exact), Bryan wrote Jackie a poem - which her maid of honor shared during her toast (and parts of which are also featured in their video). It was actually quite sweet - it’s like he knew way back then they would end up here today.
The day began at Jackie’s parents house where the bridesmaids, in their personalized matching robes, were ready just waiting for it to be time. Jackie was still getting ready when Bryan sent flowers - and it’s a good thing the make up artist was still there. Soon Jackie was in her gorgeous dress with her birdcage veil and heading to St. John’s in Schenectady to get married. The Canfield Casino was the final stop for the day where the newlyweds danced their way into the room and kept that energy going, and the dance floor packed, for the rest of the night.

Jamileh & Seth - Mohawk River Country Club
Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011After changing their January wedding date to accomodate family needs, everything finally came together and Jamileh & Seth were married a little over a week ago, surrounded by their family and friends - including Vickie & Sidney, one of our 2009 couples. After getting ready at their parent’s houses, Jamileh & Seth made it official at Sacred Heart Church in Troy before heading to the Mohawk River Country Club to celebrate. There we were entertained by a belly dancer, treated to an amazing dessert spread and guests got to create their own keepsakes as well as one for the bride and groom with the photobooth that was set up. The night ended with a special song dedicated to the bride by her new father-in-law (there’s a snippet of it at the end of the highlight video).

Lisa & John (& Brianna) Highlights - New Year’s Eve
Saturday, February 12th, 2011How do you make sure to remember what you did on New Year’s Eve? Get married and ring in the new year with all your family and friends. That’s what Lisa & John did.
Lisa & John made it official at St. Jude’s in Wynantskill, where Lisa married a “Troy Boy”. After their vows to each other, John presented Lisa’s daughter, Brianna, with a ring and made a family vow to her (yes, there were tears all around). The tears soon dried and were replaced with smiles and applause as the new Mr. & Mrs. made their way down the aisle and headed to the Century House to celebrate. The cocktail hour featured a drink named after the new couple, the “Bonatini”, and throughout the night there was food wherever you looked - chocolate fountains, a candy bar, a dessert table in addition to the wedding cake, an ice cream bar, and to top it off, after the New Year’s countdown and balloon release, a new table appeared with pizza, wings, sliders and fries. What a great way to end 2010 and start off the new year!

Tara & Jimmy Highlights - Sunny Hill Resort & Golf Course
Monday, January 10th, 2011Tara & Jimmy tied the knot at Our Lady of Knock Shrine in East Durham at the end of October. It was our third time there in three years and Tara was at every one of those weddings, so I knew this one would be another great one. Friends and family provided the music and singing for the ceremony and I overheard Jimmy telling his best man how talented Tara’s family is and how lucky their kids would be to have that passed down to them. ;) I also noticed that Tara’s necklace looked familiar - just like one her sister Tracey wore two years earlier. Tara explained that it was her mother’s and had been worn at about 15 weddings now. How great is it to have something special like that passed on.
The reception was pure fun right from the beginning. The bridal party (half of the groomsmen were named Brian) danced their way in and never stopped for the rest of the night. There was singing (Tara sang Caledonia and Glory Days and one of the Brian’s sang too), there was Step dancing and the Siege of Ennis, there was some fiddle playing (Devil Went Down to Georgia), there was jump roping and bride & groom lifting … and, I got to witness my first bathroom party (wow!). We had an absolute blast and were so happy to be surrounded by this wonderful family once again.

Jismi & Johny Highlights - Glen Sanders
Tuesday, December 28th, 2010On a beautiful day in September, I met up with Jismi at her parent’s house as she was getting the finishing touches on her make-up done. There was excitement and laughter in the air as her bridesmaids took over and helped Jismi into her dress. Soon afterwards, family members started arriving for the blessing and prayers and to wish the bride well on her day.
Jismi & Johny’s ceremony took place at Blessed Sacrament in Albany where they incorporated Indian traditions into their Catholic ceremony. From there we headed to the Empire State Plaza with Paul & Brenda from Upstate Photographers for a fun photo session with the bridal party, then made our way to Glen Sanders Mansion for the reception. Once again, Jismi & Johny incorporated traditional elements into their day, including a lamp lighting, feeding of coconut water, dance performances, and speeches before changing into Indian clothing for the rest of the reception. It was a wonderful day packed full of events, which coordinator Christine Wheat managed with ease. The DJ (IEDJS) started the party with an amazing dance set and played a great mixture of music all night to keep the dance floor packed.
