Tiffany & Christopher ~ Feature Film ~ Franklin Plaza

Sunday, January 8th, 2012

9/10/11 - probably the most popular day to get married last year. Tiffany locked in the date early so I had the honor of spending the day with her and Chris and their crazy bridal party.

I met up with Tiffany at the hotel where she and her girls were getting ready. After some shots, some “that’s what she said” jokes and a minor jewelry crisis, we headed across the street for Tiffany & Chris’ first look. From there we made our way to the church where Chris and (a slightly emotional) Tiffany exchanged vows and became husband and wife.

Back at the Franklin Plaza the bridal party danced their way into the room and set the stage for an awesome introduction of the newlyweds. Everyone in the place joined them on the dance floor for a fun first dance, then made a big circle around them for their first slow dance together. DJ Vinny from Cool Cat kept the music pumping and the dance floor packed - and at one point even assisted with a plot to “ice” the bride and groom. What a great night!

Here is Tiffany & Chris’ feature film. Enjoy - and feel free to leave comments for the happy couple!

Nicole & Nick ~ Feature Film ~ Canfield Casino

Monday, November 28th, 2011

When I found out Nicole and Nick were finally engaged, I immediately blocked their date on my calendar. They hadn’t called me yet, but there was no way I was going to miss this wedding when they did call. I have fallen in love with this crowd (there were 6 CASL brides there) - plus, they throw the.best.parties!  And to top it all off, this was Nicole & Nick’s 42nd wedding together - yes, 42nd.

I met up with Nicole at her parent’s house where I got to meet Cruz, their dog, in his adorable Ringbearer shirt. Nicole was ready to go. Hair done. Make-up done. When she finally got dressed, I think everyone in the room was tearing up, except Nicole - she kept her cool the whole time. As soon as everyone was ready, we headed outside with our good friends, Joe & JP Elario for some photos. Of course, it decided to rain right about then - good thing those two are quick.

At the church, Nick continued a family tradition and walked his mother down the aisle (loved that!), then he and Nicole made #42 official.  It rained again between the ceremony & reception, but cleared up just enough for some photos of the two of them outside. Inside the bridal party got the party started with the intros and kept it going the rest of the night - such a great time - and wait until you see what Nicole did for the father daughter dance. So sweet! I even got a picture with all my brides that were there (love them!).

Here is Nicole & Nick’s feature film.  Enjoy - and feel free to leave comments for the happy couple!

Marisa & Bob - Franklin Terrace

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

Marisa has been in or at a few weddings of mine over the past couple of years, so I was very excited when I found out she & Bob got engaged last year and even more excited when she called me!

Marisa started off her day at her grandmother’s house where she and her bridesmaids got ready.  The house was full and there was something going on in every room.  Bob hung out with the guys at a groomsman’s house, joking and laughing until it was time to go.  Before they left, Bob gave the guys their gifts - sneakers (each pair picked out especially for the recipient).  How cool is that?  Before we knew it the ceremony started and Marisa appeared at the end of the aisle - she was breathtaking.  They sealed their vows with an awesome first kiss and made their way down the aisle.  To start off the reception, the bridal party was introduced and danced their way into the room, each couple to a different song, with the men sporting their new footwear.  The newlyweds followed and got everyone on the dance floor right away and kept them there for the rest of the night - barely stopping for the ice cream sundae station that was set up later in the night (chocolate with M&Ms - my favorite).

Fallon & JJ - Wedding Highlights

Sunday, August 8th, 2010

I have been looking forward to Fallon & JJ’s wedding for almost a year - and it was worth the wait! I knew a lot of the crowd from previous weddings and knew it would be fun, but this party was over the top.  I started at Fallon’s parents house where the girls were being made Flawless by Tina. Fallon’s princess-like dress was hanging in the newly air-conditioned living room where she showed me the charms she had sewn in her dress to remember JJ’s mom. Before we left, Fallon gave me and the photographers (Images by Moak) yummy snack bags to keep us going the rest of the day.

The ceremony was held at the Christ the King church and was followed by the reception at the Albany Country Club (decorated by Flowers by Pesha) and pretty much filled to capacity. This was no typical reception though. Fallon & JJ entered to a cheering crowd that immediately surrounded them on the dance floor for the first song. They opened up a circle big enough for the bride and groom to share their first dance in the center of it, then settled down for the toasts. Before they could start, all the guests were given the option of toasting with the champagne at the tables, or with cans of Coors Light that the staff brought out on trays with sparklers. I think most opted for the Coors. After the toasts, things usually quiet down for dinner, but not this night. Dinner was set up as a two hour buffet so guests could go eat when they wanted too, and the party started right away. Vinny from Cool Cat provided the entertainment for the night and even had his dance team on hand to keep the crowd dancing all night long - and that they did. The night ended with sparklers on the patio and everyone singing God Bless the USA to celebrate the marriage of Fallon & JJ and the beginning of Independence Day weekend. And what a great start to both it was!

Michelle & Zach - Wedding Highlights

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

“There will be Spice Girls!” Other than her dress and her music selections, Michelle wasn’t really sure what everything was going to look like and how it was going to come together since she had planned her wedding long distance from Georgia where Zach is stationed. Well, she didn’t need to worry - it was beautiful.

When I arrived on the day of the wedding, the girls were hanging out, playing video games and checking statuses on FB - just waiting to get dressed.  Right before it was time to go, Michelle presented her mother with a locket that she had put her grandmother’s photo inside so that she would be with them that day (yes, there were tears). The ceremony was short and sweet, and neither Zach nor Michelle could stop smiling at each other. It’s so cool to watch people in love on their wedding day - the excitement of the big day, the anticipation of their life together - very cool.  Anyway, after the photo session the party started. Vinny from Cool Cat Entertainment got the crowd revved up starting with the introductions and they kept it going all night.  There was an awesome bouquet and garter toss - with the lucky catchers already dating each other, there was a breakdancer, balcony dancers and even a Spice Girls song thrown in for the bride. :) An awesome party to celebrate their first hours as husband and wife.  Congratulations Michelle & Zach!

Maria & Elois - Wedding Highlights

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

When I arrived at her parent’s house, Maria was ready - she just had to get into her dress.  She was totally calm.   Then I started filming and the photographers arrived and started shooting.  That’s when it changed - when it hit her that it was really happening.

The ceremony was held at the St. Mary of the Angels Chapel at Siena College.  Maria’s father walked her down the aisle to where Elois (aka Bubba) was waiting for her.   Everything went according to plan and after they were pronounced husband and wife, everyone headed to the Franklin Plaza for the reception.

After a quick nighttime photo session with Matt and Jamaica from Matt Ramos Photography, the party started.  Chris from Cool Cat Entertainment introduced the bridal party and the Franklin Plaza staff lit up the room with sparklers as Maria & Bubba entered the room.  Side notes: Matt worked on his birthday for this wedding - what dedication; and he has already posted some awesome photos from Maria & Bubba’s weddding on his blog - check them out here

Maria decided to put a twist on the bouquet/garter toss tradition.  Instead of inviting up all the single ladies, she had all the married ladies meet on the dance floor.  She tossed the bouquet and the lucky recipient’s husband had to put the garter on her.  They were such good sports - especially for being married for 37 years.  The rest of the night was filled with dancing to current hits, oldies but goodies, and the chicken dance (which was dedicated to Maria’s grandmother).  The night ended to “Last Dance” which started with a group hug on the dance floor and ended with everyone having a great time.

Here is Maria & Bubba’s highlight video from their September 2009 wedding.  Feel free to leave comments for the happy couple!
