Kate & PJ ~ Feature Film ~ Pat’s Barn

Thursday, March 15th, 2012

Fairy tales do come true…When I first met Kate & PJ, I remember thinking “I can’t wait for this wedding”. These two were so in love and just so darn cute together. And the wedding? Even better than I expected. I arrived at the church early to set up and get some shots of people arriving and saw PJ’s limo roll up. Out comes PJ in his military uniform (awesome!). Kate slowly made her way down the aisle to PJ and they were both beaming, along with their families. During the ceremony, the priest brought up the ideas of fairy tales and happily ever after. This seemed to be a recurring theme for the rest of the night and the story of their lives together.

The reception at Pat’s Barn was perfect. They had cider and donuts on the tables as favors, yummy food upstairs and downstairs, touching toasts by Kate’s father and sister and PJ’s brother and a very emotional mother and son dance that had everyone tearing up a bit. Then came the dancing which lasted all night long. I think the dance floor was still packed right up to the last beat of the last song.

Kate & PJ - wishing you both a happily ever after!

Highlights from Kate & PJ’s wedding film…

Michelle & Mathias - Feature Film - Taste

Sunday, September 25th, 2011

One word - beautiful. The couple, the dress, the flowers - the whole day. Michelle thought of everything - she had matching robes and bags for her and her bridesmaids, personalized hangers for all their dresses, blue toenails (for her something blue), and even gifts for her vendors :) .

Michelle & Mathias were married at historic St. Mary’s in Albany, took pictures down by the river, then headed to their cocktail hour on the patio at Taste with views of downtown Albany before heading inside for the party.  DJ Jeffrey Scott rocked it out and the Casey Connell photography team debuted their new photo booth that night - which the guests loved.  The speeches were touching and funny and Mathias even got up and spoke - though some of it was in German, so I have no idea what he said. Oh, and the first dance was AWESOME! It was a great night for a great couple - and I was so happy to be there for it all!

Here is Michelle & Mathias’ feature film. Enjoy - and feel free to leave comments for the happy couple!

Marie & Ben - Taste

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

Marie and Ben were married in a touching ceremony by her family’s pastor. As soon as the ceremony ended it started raining, but, as was the case with a few weddings this year the rain cleared up just in time to make it to the Empire State Plaza with our good friends, Pat and Jessie from Casey Connell Photography, for some outside bridal party shots. (check out their photos here.)

The reception took place at Taste in downtown Albany, and when Marie’s parents started off the reception with a comedy routine for their welcome toast I knew we were in for a fun evening. DJ Vinny from Non Stop Music was there with his new uplighting (which looked great in that room) making sure the dance floor stayed full - which it did. I don’t think Ben ever left the dance floor, and after the formalities Marie changed into a second, shorter dress which was easier to dance in. At one point they even moved the head table out of the way to make more room to dance.

Here is Marie & Ben’s highlight video from their June 2011 wedding. Feel free to leave comments for the happy couple.

Along the Creek: A Style Shoot

Thursday, October 7th, 2010

Recently, Casey Connell Photography put together a style shoot with some incredible vendors and asked me to tag along. I’ve been wanting to do something like this, so I jumped at the chance. We met up at a private home with a creek and a pond on a day I thought for sure was going to get rained out. Thankfully it didn’t and we were able to get some awesome stuff - even with our shoes off in the uneven, slippery, rock-covered creek, maneuvering so we could keep our cameras up in the air if we fell (no one did).

There were a bunch of talented professionals involved and we all happened to be women this time - so go girl power! Here’s the list of those involved:
Photos by Pat & Jessie from Casey Connell Photography (check out the photos here)
Hair Stylist Jenah from Kylie & Company
Make-up Artist Tina from Flawless by Tina
Dress Designer Aimee from Style for Grace (check out the ostrich feather dress)
Cake Designer Melissa from Make Me A Cake…Next Door
Florist Lauren from The Flower Girl
Stationary by uluckygirl
Video by me - CASL Productions :)

Big thanks to Pat & Jessie from Casey Connell Photography for putting this all together and for letting me tag along for the ride. Hope to do it again soon!

Becky & Joe - Wedding Highlights

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Mission: Get “the shot”. Becky really wanted us to get the shot of Joe when he first saw her on their wedding day. With all eyes on you as your walk down the aisle, you can’t necessarily see or register that reaction, so, Mission: Accomplished. Now Becky will be able to see Joe’s reaction over and over again.

So that’s how it started. The outdoor ceremony at the Hiland Park Country Club was moved indoors due to rain that day (good to have a Plan B ready), however it cleared up just enough afterwards to get some photos outside with the always fun Casey Connell Photography team. We headed back inside to get some shots of the room decked out in pink and green by Drops of Jupiter, and had enough time to stop into the cocktail hour for the yummy mashed potato bar. Mmmm - mashed potatoes!

Vinny from NonStopMusic was on hand to keep the party moving, which he did with some cool music choices - including some fun stuff I haven’t heard in a while.  He introduced the new couple, who shared their first dance and then sat down to a very funny best man’s toast. A giant frog made an appearance and there was lots of hopping, jumping and laughing for the rest of the night. I think the end of this reception was only the beginning of the party.
