Jacqueline & Junait ~ Feature Film ~ Albany Country Club

Sunday, February 26th, 2012

On a perfect October day, on the patio of the Albany Country Club, Jacqueline & Junait said their “I do’s” (well, Junait actually said “I definitely do”).

I remember meeting Jackie & Junait about two years ago and as they told me about their plans for the big day I thought it sounded fun, but that was an understatement. It was a blast and they included a lot of personal touches to really make the day special.  They had a blessing in Turkish (I don’t know what was said but I’m sure it was nice), they had the most awesome toasts by their two maids of honor and two best men, they had a photobooth set up, they had a belly dancer who got the guests out on the dance floor, they smashed stuff on the floor (just one vase really, and it was filled with candy) and they, along with their bridal party, danced ALL night long.

There was too much going on to list here, so here is Jacqueline & Junait’s feature film from their October 2011 wedding. Enjoy - and feel free to leave comments for the happy couple!

Stephanie & Ted - Albany Country Club

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

What a wedding! Stephanie & Ted had it all, and to top it off, the weather was perfect. Starting off the day we split up - I met up with Stephanie and the girls and Amanda hung out with Ted and the guys. The girls were all relaxed getting their hair and makeup done when I arrived, while the guys were chilling playing a little air hockey. As always, when our friends, the Elarios, arrived everything kicked into high gear. Stephanie slipped into her gown and blue Manolo Blahnik shoes, and made her grand entrance down the staircase where her father was waiting (he melted). At the guys house there was more air hockey and a last minute bite to eat before hopping in the Hummer to head to the church.

The Greek ceremony was beautiful - full of traditions. The couple were married by the bishop, who was a family friend, so it made it that much more special. Afterwards we all made our way to the Albany Country Club where they pretty much took over the whole place. The cocktail hour was outside on the patio and included living statues that held the place cards (so cool). Inside a whole room was dedicated to candies, desserts and coffees. There were flowers and crystal trees on the tables, a cake that looked like it was made for a princess, and they had Greek band and a DJ to keep the dance floor rocking all night long. Oh, and I can’t count the number of times the staff had to sweep dollar bills off the dance floor. What a great night!

Fallon & JJ - Wedding Highlights

Sunday, August 8th, 2010

I have been looking forward to Fallon & JJ’s wedding for almost a year - and it was worth the wait! I knew a lot of the crowd from previous weddings and knew it would be fun, but this party was over the top.  I started at Fallon’s parents house where the girls were being made Flawless by Tina. Fallon’s princess-like dress was hanging in the newly air-conditioned living room where she showed me the charms she had sewn in her dress to remember JJ’s mom. Before we left, Fallon gave me and the photographers (Images by Moak) yummy snack bags to keep us going the rest of the day.

The ceremony was held at the Christ the King church and was followed by the reception at the Albany Country Club (decorated by Flowers by Pesha) and pretty much filled to capacity. This was no typical reception though. Fallon & JJ entered to a cheering crowd that immediately surrounded them on the dance floor for the first song. They opened up a circle big enough for the bride and groom to share their first dance in the center of it, then settled down for the toasts. Before they could start, all the guests were given the option of toasting with the champagne at the tables, or with cans of Coors Light that the staff brought out on trays with sparklers. I think most opted for the Coors. After the toasts, things usually quiet down for dinner, but not this night. Dinner was set up as a two hour buffet so guests could go eat when they wanted too, and the party started right away. Vinny from Cool Cat provided the entertainment for the night and even had his dance team on hand to keep the crowd dancing all night long - and that they did. The night ended with sparklers on the patio and everyone singing God Bless the USA to celebrate the marriage of Fallon & JJ and the beginning of Independence Day weekend. And what a great start to both it was!

Julie & Kory - Wedding Highlight Video

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

OK, here we go - the first of the 2009 videos!

Julie & Kory were married on a chilly, windy day in April, but it was still perfect. It started at the Cobleskill United Methodist Church where guests were greeted by a bagpiper as they arrived. Julie’s three brothers took turns walking her down the aisle as Kory anxiously awaited. In the video, you can see the best man remind Kory to breathe as Julie walks towards him. After the ceremony, there were some pictures and some mingling with guests outside. Julie is a kindergarten teacher and her students were at the ceremony watching from the balcony (you can spot them in the video) - she had a special treat waiting for all of them and she and Kory had their picture taken with them afterwards.

The reception was held at the Albany Country Club, which has a wall of windows that provided us with great lighting for the first dance. Kory’s mom handmade a special quilt for the couple and had the guests sign it with best wishes – something I’m sure they will treasure always. There was a candy bar (love those!), dancing, more dancing and even some more dancing. Julie and Kory did the dollar dance with a line you wouldn’t believe and donated all the money to the American Cancer Society. Afterwards, the party really started and the dance floor stayed packed for the rest of the night – lots of times overflowing right off the dance floor. We also got to see and chat with one of our 2008 couples at the wedding – Kim & John (thanks for the referral!).

Here is their Highlight Video. Congratulations Julie & Kory!

Enjoy!
